paper or plastic, wood or clear....

Actually I thought I'd address the pros and cons of wood verses clear mount stamps.

In some ways I like wood and some ways I like clear, so here are the pros and cons......

Pros for wood....they are more convenient when going somewhere...like when I go and stamp with
different groups, I can just pick up my box and go, I don't have to worry about
                           having enough acrylic blocks.
....I don't have to worry about them falling off the block.

Pros for clear.....they are cheaper.
                     ......they take up less space.
......it's easier to see where you are placing your stamp.

Cons for wood...they are more expensive.
                       ....take up more room.
....harder to make sure they are straight.

Cons for clear...I have to make sure I have enough blocks for all the stamps I am using.
....Sometimes you have to keep pulling off on on the stamps you are using on the same
                           block.
....They fall off the blocks a lot unless you have some kind of adhesive on them.

Well that's just a few things...I guess you have to decide which you like best.  At first I thought clear, when they first came out, now I don't mind wood some.  I have been ordering a few more of those lately, especially depending on what I need them for.

Well how about a card?
I know it's not Christmas yet, but....

Happy Thanksgiving,

Wanda

and life goes on...

greetings everyone, although I think I have a little sore throat, I am moving forward....

We ended up having "Christmas Card Night" this past Monday night, and although we didn't make Christmas Cards, we did make some fun things....

I'm not going to show you them yet, but I will show you a sympathy card we made...

I got this idea from Jan Tink at  stampspaperscissors.typepad.com.  She had it done as a Christmas card, however we (Barbara P, Phyllis and I) are in need of sympathy cards, sad to say, so I changed it into a sympathy card.

I didn't have enough Crumb Cake card stock and no Cherry Cobbler seam binding, so I changed that up some too.  She also stamped her image differently using the stamp a m jig...me, well please don't tell anyone, since I am suppose to be a Stamping Guru or something like that, but I don't like the stamp a ma jig very much, and....grasp..I'm not very good at it, plus.....I'm...lazy...so....I stamped in Versa Mark and colored the birds with a Cherry Cobbler Marker...then stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder..Of course I masked the moon before sponging the Crumb Cake ink on it...

Jan gives the way she did it on her web site..

Well enough true confessions for today..

Have a good one.

Wanda

a millon dollar card....

well not really, it's a ten dollar card and this isn't the exact one I made, just one like....so I guess maybe my blog title is misleading...hey maybe I should be politician..jk

You can't see all the sparkle and shimmer on this card and the ones I sold for 10 bucks were a little longer, but you can get the idea...

I cut the leaves out with the big shot, sponged them, stamped on them, spritz them with alcohol and shimmer paint, wadded them up, unwadded them and let them dry..quite a process for each leaf. I put 5 on each card.  Mom helped so that was nice.

There is sparkle on the net ribbon and card too, but you can't really see that.  The card and ribbon are  both Crumb Cake.

If you want to see this in real life and make one of your own, we will be making them next week in card class.

Hope I'm not coming down with a cold, like I think I am.

Happy Voting,
HS,
Wanda

excited,sleepy, sad, and stressed...

right now..

Excited... that I am commissioned to make 13 cards for $10 each...

Sleepy... because I woke up at 1:30 am and couldn't go back to sleep...

Sad... for my good friends Mark and Sally Richter and Germaine Hobelman, families who lost their mother Monday and Tuesday...

Stressed... because I have to go to two funerals, go to the store to get and make food for them and gets these cards done by Fri..plus I did want to get some exercise in and I need to pick up Mom.....

Well on with a card for today...

This is a very beautiful card I receive in a card swap...I feel it is very appropriate for the day..
The main color is Baja Breeze, the flowers are embossed on vellum and colored with a Baja Breeze marker, then cut out and the centers are glittered.

Have a lovely day, I must be off now.

kinda down today...

but I know you didn't come here to hear my sad stories...("new" used car is not fixable...waaah.)

So let's change the subject and see what kind of cards I have on file.  I made about 8 or 9 the other day, but haven't photographed them yet.  If you would see my house, you might could figure out why.

The is one with a really cool fold that we will be doing in Dec class...you'll have to wait a couple of days to see that one.  It's called the twisted card...hummm

Well here is one for today....

How about a nice snowy card for the 75 degree weather we are having here today....?

The card base is Crumb Cake, it doesn't show up here too much.  The mittens were punched with the new mitten punch in the Holiday Catty.

Well, I'll go now and get started cooking supper.

things are moving along but...

it's still quite messy around here.  But the finished product will be well worth it!

You won't know it. unless you read my blog, cause I'm not telling anyone else, but I will have a remodeled bathroom (at least to some extent).  Yeah!

Well stamping around here is still pretty much at a stand still, but I think I am going to my great stampin' buddy, Barbara P's house and then we will play our hearts away.. at least for a few hours, if it all works out.

I have been asked to design and make 9 elegant cards......I hope we can work on that today.

Well until then here's a little something....

Barbara made part of this with mds (my digital studio).. it very pretty.. Me, I don't much about it, though one day I will....

Well have a lovely day and know I am "thinking of you"!

Happy Stampin' (HS)

just got home...

from a visit to the Smoky Mountains.

Last year we started, what we hope is a tradition of going with a few of our friends, Mark, Sally, Markie and Rhonda to stay together for a few days in Oct in the Smoky's.
We had a wonderful time, one I hope of many.

While I was gone my sister asked me, what two projects I'd like done in my house........I won't go into details but.......things are quite topsy turvy around here.  I don't think I have any room to stamp at ALL.  I even had to cancel my classes this month, which is sad cause I have so many great things.

Well here something that I downloaded before I left.  I wanted to post while I was gone, but can you believe it, I had no internet while there!  Talk about primitive.....:0)

Here is a card we did in class last month.  I cased it from Dawn O.  I don't send Halloween cards, but some of my girls (stamping ones) do, so they had an option to do this one....

It uses a spotlighting technique that is fast and easy..you could do this with a lot of different stamps.

Well I have a mess here, so I guess I'll go for now.

for some reason, I don't feel like....

blogging, and I'm not sure why.

However I shall do it anyway.....

Actually I am starting to feel better already...I want to experiment today with some different techniques to make some really pretty leaves I saw online.

I hope I can get to them.  First of (I keep getting phone calls to interupt me and I can't remeber what I was going to say).....

Well anyway after that interuption I will just move on to a card.....

This is a card we made at a resent down line meeting, designed by none other that the famous Mary Brown....We used the new Evergreen stamp set found in the Holiday Mini catalog..

Well I get on with my day which includes swimming..

See you soon.

Thursday, October 4, 2012

what a week......

talk about emotionally draining......

Some details I can't mention because of the serious nature of them....but wow what a week... I feel like I have lived 2 weeks in just 2 days.

Seems like everyone I know is having some real hard problems and situations..
But the phases of a song that keeps running though my head is..Does Jesus care, Oh yes He cares, He cares and He understands...When the days are dreay and I am weary, I know my Jesus cares.
I am so glad He does care and when it seems like we can't take any more, He's there to help lift our load when we take it to Him and trust Him to work out His will, maybe not our way, but His way...

My visit with my sister was wonderful and very eye opening.  She works at Echo Hills, and adult care facility for physically and mentally handicapped adults.  I wasn't there 5 minutes before I couldn't hold the tears back....They are so sweet and special.  I count it a privilege to stamp with them and visit with them.  Mom went too and we really enjoyed our selves.  It gave me a new appreciation for what my sister, Raeschell does and is doing to help others.

I took a camera to take pictures of what we made with them, but left it in my car, which I didn't have with me at the time, so no pictures, but they were very proud of what they did.

Here' s a picture though of a card...

I love this card..Barbara P got this in a swap she did at our down line meeting last month...and we are going to be doing this in class this month...

It uses the embossed resist technique, one I have used before.

Well I am off to wash my hair, them swimming, and going to Rachel's to help her work on a quilt she wants to make.. I am cutting out squares for her to sew with my Big Shot. (and you thought it was just to make cards with...)

Have a lovely day.

It seems no matter what I order, or how often I order, I always didn't order enough or what I needed...
oh well. I guess that's life.

Well here is a lovely card some kind stamper, Susan Sewell, gave me this past Saturday at an SU demo meeting....

I love this card.. we are going to make it in our October card class.
Stamp sets: En Franis, Gently Falling
Ink: Baja Breeze, Soft Suede, Versa Mark
Paper: Baja Breeze DPS, Soft Suede, Whisper White.
Other: Clear Embossing Powder, Baja Breeze seam binding, linen thread, scalloped edge trim punch.

Well have a lovely weekend.  I am off to Mt Vernon tomorrow to cut and get ready to help make 50 to 150 cards on Monday.

enjoying the morning..

It is a nice quite morning so far...enjoy the peace and a cup of coffee (which I hardly ever drink).  Of course it has lots of milk and sugar...

My day will soon be filled with grand babies and sewing and a few other things, but for now the solitude...

I am making some coffee cup cards and a post it note cover for a coffee basket that a friend of mine school is auctioning off sometime soon.... Hopefully I'll take pictures before I give it to her today.

This is another card I designed for us to this past Saturday at a demo's meeting.   (I wasn't even going to buy this set.)

Well I did survive a busy, busy 2 weeks and I am looking forward to taking a few days to go to Mt. Vernon, Ohio to see my sister, Raeschell.

She is the director of a facility that works and cares for mentally and physically disabled adults.  Mom and I are going to help them make Christmas cards.

Well I will go for now, have a lovely peaceful day and HS,

i though i had a title for this post...

but by the time I got home I forgot so...I'll just move on.

It seems like every time I post I am always telling you how busy I am...kinda gets monotonous, don't it?

Well I have been busy and here are some cards to prove it....
This is a card I cased mostly from Jill Hillard...I did change up a few things..

This my design...

Both of these cards use the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and matching Framelits....

They are 2 of 7 I designed for our down line meeting this Saturday, where I am one the presenters or whatever you want to call me.

We I really must be off, do you know what my dinning room table looks like after one of my designing sessions? and to top it all off I have a class tonight......

Before I go however, I do want to thank God for helping me come up with these ideas and designs, some days I just draw a blank. I am thankful when I pray for help, He answers.  I'm really not that clever, just blessed.

Hope you have a blessed day, till next time...

happy anniversary...

to me and my hubby of only 36 years!  And are you ready for the irony?  Seems like I need to now prove that I am married for me to remain on Eugene's insurance (that's he's only had for several years now).  I have to find my marriage license for prof go figure.

Anyway here is a card I made at a shoe box swap at a direct up line meeting with Sharon D.
It was designed by Kim Innis.  Sharon said it was her favorite of all the swap cards we made...We made it with the Perfectly Preserved Bundle (stamp set and dies together).  It's a fun set and I have more projects to make and made with this set for classes this month.

Have a lovely day and make sure you know you're married... (yeah whatever).

inspiration...

from yesterday's card is what inspired Mom for today's cards.

Mom took glossy paper and stamped the image on with Stazon, the she just sponged it instead of using alcohol and re inkers. She made about 19 of these.

I have to little boys that spent the night last night, so not much stamping for a while.  I did make a triple layer card last night before I went to bed.  I am not sure if I will use it for class this month or not.  Have to think about that one.

Well I must be off..

HS,
Wanda

Wednesday, September 5, 2012

maybe not Tues either....

I don't think I'll get much stampin' in today...because we just picked up 20 dozen ears of corn...
so Momma and I are busy...to say the least.

We (mostly she) did alot Monday evening.  It is now 2:25 am, Tuesday morning and I am just waiting to put up the last few bags of the corn she did.  We did 8 quarts so far.

Well enough of that.  How about another card...

This a really nice one done similar to polished stone technique we have done before.  The difference is here they just use alcohol and re inker and no metallic ink..it drys a lot faster.

The Open Seas stamp set and Not Quite Navy and Crumb Cake ink along with Black Stazon to stamp  with.

Hope you had a nice Labor Day...

Till next time HS,
Wanda

actually there were..

a lot I really liked.  It takes lots of time and energy to do detailed cards to swap with lots of people, I guess that's why I'm impressed...

This one is made with Betsy's Blossom set and coordinating DP..I really like this one.  I guess I need to give credit where credit is due...I look it up later.

Have a great holiday weekend.  I'll be back on Monday.  We're going camping, so no stamping for me till probably Tues.

HS,
Wanda

Thursday, August 30, 2012

wow, it's been a week..

since I last posted.

My good friend, Debbie H, went to Salt Lake City, UT to the national SU Convention.  One of the favorite things to do there is to swap cards...I made 40 and she took them there to swap for me..this past Tuesday she came over and showed me all of them (she made about 120) and we looked at cards.  WOW, what a great job everyone did!

I'll be posting some of my favorites over the next few weeks...

Humm..I tried to enhance my photo, but maybe I didn't know what I was doing, the color Daffodil Delight should be much brighter.. anyway I love this mono chromatic card Basic Black, and Whisper White along with the Daffodil Delight.  I don't have this stamp set, but even though I'm no fortune teller, I see it in my future.

Well have a lovely afternoon..my hubby wants homemade biscuits for supper..yum

HS,
Wanda

Thursday, August 23, 2012

wow am i ever sleepy....

and I don't know why....oh well who cares? not me...

Here is another card made with some of my leaves...
The piece at the top is a scrap from the embossed woodgrain piece that I cut off because it was too long...Mom's idea..looks good.  I made a couple of acorns but couldn't find a place that they looked good in.  Simple but I like it okay.

Well I don't think I am babysitting tomorrow, just exercise, get ready for Saturday swap and somebody needs to clean my house....any volunteers?

"Well Rabbit I must be off", says Pooh stickily....
HS, says Wanda......

another fall card...

this is another card we made...
I think this is the one Mom actually dreamed about...We used the Early Espresso Core'dinations card stock for this one, mounted it on Crumb Cake and added some DSP from the something Cafe' (have to look that up later) and added a brushed bronze Designer Button.

Well I was going to have to babysit for Rachel to put Scott in school today, but after a call she got yesterday that was all changed.  I am going to go to water exercise class (if it's not too cold) and then pick Scott up till church tonight.  I have to do Missionary Service tonight.

Well have a lovely day and Happy Stampin till next time.

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

i'm back now and momma had a dream....

I'm home from camp now, and it was great, but tiring....and I need to stamp...

I have a shoe box swap on Sat and I need class cards and church cards and....

I had sort of an idea, but I also had a head ache and Mom picked some grapes and we made jelly today, then it was time to work on a card, but I didn't know where to go with it.

I cut out lots of leaves with my new leaf die in various colors and ran through a new wood grain embossing folder I got, ran some new kind of card stock we have in the wood grain folder and sanded it.(I love having new stuff to play with.)  It's all from the new mini holiday catalog.
Then I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do with it...so off to take a nap.
Mom took a nap too and when I woke up she had the backgrounds I had made; some card stock; embellishments; and leaves that I had sitting out and laid them all out.

She said she had a dream about the cards and came in here and put them together...So I did a little here and there, added a ribbon sponged leaves and we came up with 3 cards, I did the fourth a little later...so there you have it.

I will be posting them over the next few days, not sure which one I will use for Saturday,  Mom votes for the this one.....
This one is Cherry Cobbler card stock and the new Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations card stock, embossed with the Wood grain textured embossing folder. I also used the new Scalloped Tulle Ribbon in Early Espresso. The leaves are More Mustard, Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler.

Well gotta rush, be back tomorrow with Mom's second dream card.

HS,
Wanda

hungry anyone?

I do have a project to show you that I quickly did on Saturday.  I had planned on stamping most of the day, but...I cut grass, did laundry and can't remember at this point everything, but here is what I made...
It's a covered post it note holder and pencil.  I saw the idea somewhere on the internet, but when I went back to find it I couldn't...anyway I googled and got the measurements and here you are.

We will be making this in class next month (Sept.) and I will post a picture tutorial with measurements on how to make one too.

I probably won't be stamping or posting anymore this week as I am going to be at Comargo Camp (our church camp) where I am the breakfast cook, plus grandma duty, crochet coach and couple other things.

Now for the reason of the title of this post.....
This is Lea my youngest grand daughter enjoying her spaghetti....

Enjoy yours......

Have a Great Week and Happy Stampin' till next time.

i want to play.....

I have so many new Stampin' Up toys and I want to play with them, but I'm too busy....waaaaa.

I have lots of ideas floating around in my head, but no time yet to get them on paper.

Tomorrow I am finishing up the rest of my Button Buddies card kits, then doing some sewing for Angie and Alana as they get ready for school.  Scott is spending the night, Rachel is coming over sometime tomorrow to pick him up.  Angie is also coming over to help pack up my camper and to pack the one they are using, so I have to get stuff ready for that....and all I want to do is stamp.

Well anyway here is the card I made for church cards this week.. I found the idea on Heidi Banks blog. I mostly copied but did change up a few things...

Cut a piece of Very Vanilla out with the Apothecary Labels framelits ( I was going to use white, but used vanilla instead, since you sponge it all, I don' t know if it much matters.) I sponged it with More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze, then stamp the flowers from the Serene Silhouette with Black Stazon ink.  I ran a piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot using the Fancy Fan embossing folder. Did some paper piercing and scoring with the Scoring Tool.

I think it might need something else like a ribbon or something on the side, but left it blank for now.

Well it's about 11:30 pm, I went to bed already once around 10, but didn't go to sleep, so I got back up....

Have a lovely night and a great day tomorrow and if by some miracle I get to stamp, I'll let you know.

HS,
Wanda

the eyes of a child...

if only I had them sometimes....

My 3 year old grandson, Zeb recently made a couple of birthday cards.  One was for his Aunt Angie (my younger daughter) and one was for his brother Ethan.
He had fun and was quite happy with the results...

I punch out the blue butterfly, and cut around the outline of it and he punch out the other paper one, stamped and did the shaving cream technique..

For this one I gave him a piece of orange paper that already had somethings punched out of it..he use some deco scissor, markers and tape..Orange is Ethan's favorite color and I think Zeb drew him a car....

I wish I could be as happy with some of the stuff I do....

Well I have been stampin/making church cards and visiting with grand babies so far this week, plus my water exercise classes...I didn't have the stamp set to finish the cards I was working on, so once again my hero Barbara P is coming to my rescue today and letting me use hers.  Hopefully I'll be able to post the finished card tomorrow..

Till then HS, and work on your eyesight while I work on mine...

good morning....

I just got through downloading and emailing card kit pictures and directions...hope it works.

Here is one of the cards included in the kit.  I found this idea somewhere on the Internet and really liked it.  I changed the size up a little to save on designer paper.
I used paper from the Summer Smooches..the colors are Daffodil Delight and Indigo Island.

Busy day today....I must be off...

HS,

Thursday, August 2, 2012

i am working on the card kit pics...

I am going to try and get them done by Monday at the latest.

I am going to swimming class in the morning and 2 or 3 hours home before going to Ethan's bday party.

I will work hard on getting them done and posted before I go if possible, but I'm not sure how long it will take...

Thanks to everyone who ordered them, I hope you enjoy them.

Till tomorrow.

my day just got better.....a christmas card....

 YEAH! it's still here.....long story...made short, I hope.

At our monthly Christmas gathering, one of my stamping girls, Gloria H, found a card on splitcoaststampers.com and wanted to make it.....It was a lot of work.  Phyllis saw it and wanted to make it..finally they got together for Phyllis to do it..after she made 4 of them she decided it was a lot of work.  Mom saw them and decided to make them, she made 12 yesterday and here it is.....

Card base is Cherry Cobbler a Very Vanilla 4 x 5 1/4 is on top of that stamping with some snowflakes from the Snow Swirls stamp set in Crumb Cake.  The biggest Cherry Cobbler scalloped circle (retired), the Crumb Cake is a 3 in circle embossed with the Snowburst embossing folder (retired), the next Cherry Cobbler  is cut with the Perfect Pennants Bigz L die, and the small circle is a 1 3/4 circle punch....whew that was a long list...the 3 snow flakes are punch with a retired snowflake bigz die...(the stuff just retired in June, so I still have it.)
The little girl stamp is from the Greeting Card Kids set, colored with markers, white gel pen glittered with dazzling details and pearls...

The made not have been long, but stuff we used was.....

My ppppp key is working fine today, go figure..

Well have a wonderful day....

HS,
Wanda

waaaaahhhhaaa...

i just lost my WHOLE post I typed.......can't re write it now, no more time or heart......maybe later..
hope this isn't a preview of the day to come...later..wanda...ps. hope your day has a better start than mine..

nothing clever right now....

well, actually is it ever clever or am I just in a delusion?

Well any way, got back from camping Monday instead of Sunday, am I surprised?  Eugene always like to take an extra day if possible and it was possible. (my p key on my computer keeps sticking...)

We got home in time for me to have Christmas card night....pizza and stamping.

Today Mom made 12 Christmas cards and helped me finish 20 Church cards.

Several of you (hi Carol) wanted the measurements for the triple layer card...(thanks Barbara), so here they are.
Card base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 folded in half...cut 3 pieces of Whisper White card stock 2 x 3 1/4,
3 x 4 1/4 and 4 x 5 1/4...layer them on top of each other and temporarily adhere together and stamp.
Take them apart and mount the 4 x 5 1/4 piece on the card base. Then layer a piece of 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 on top of that..layer the 3 x 4 1/4 stamped white on top of that and put your 2 x 3 1/4 stamped piece on top of a piece of 2 1/4 x 3 1/2 colored card stock..tie a ribbon and mount on top if them all...

Well have a good evening, night (it's 11 pm here and time for bed).

Planning on posting Mom's Christmas card tomorrow...

(do you know how many times I've had to retype the stuppppid P tonight>?)

Later,
Wanda

Thursday, July 26, 2012

sorry no pics today....Friday that is.

I am actually writing this Thurs night to post tomorrow...my laptop with my pictures are in the camper and we're fixing to head out, but I thought I'd let you know I won't be back here till Monday...

I did take some stamping with me but it's stuff you've already seen. I am just going to finish up some extra cards that I had cut up for class and use them for church cards next week.

Have a lovely weekend..

Happy Stampin until then,
Wanda

think we are going to get a storm?

We are suppose to go camping this weekend, in fact tonight. Eugene was going to try to get home early to take the camper to Stonelick State Park.  It's not too far from here, and he is getting home late tomorrow night from work, so he thought he'd do it tonight......

They are predicting severe winds, hail and thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening...

Well enough of that.  I am also suppose to go swimming at the Y today for exercise.  I have went two other times so far, but one of my buddies can't make it.  I am waiting here from the other one....

Back to the real reason you are here...

Remember this card?.........Well here is what we did inside.....

We made it into a tunnel card! We used a regular 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 piece of card stock.  Fold it in half and then fold the two side pieces back up to the middle..cut out a piece in the center (I used the Labels Collection Framelits).  You match up the to side pieces to the card base on the two outer corners and adhere to each side.  One day I may make a video,(don't hold your breath).  I find this idea on dawnstampingthought.net, she does have a video.

Well just got a text and swimming it is...

Catch you later.

Wanda

here i am again, twice in tthe same day.....

I have a couple of things to cover...First is a card kit I am offering for next month..

I have gathered ideas from here and there and this is what I came up with...
There are 2 more cards not pictured...You get 10 pre cut cards, 36 buttons, bows already tied, bakers twine, envelopes for $18.  If you want the stamp set and kit it is $37 clear or $47 wood (add $5.50 for priority shipping if you aren't going to pick it up).
Basically if you order the stamp set, you are only paying for the supplies,  I do all the work for free!
Email or call if you need more info.

Secondly I thought I'd give you the measurements for this card..
Cut your card stock at 4 1/4 by 7 1/4..score at 2 3/4 and 3 3/4.  If you need to know I can anything just ask..

Well I'll have to go for now...

Later, happy stampin',
Wanda

i can't believe i ate the whole thing...

well actually I didn't eat it, but it seems like I did.  I use 2 whole packs maybe three plus of Whisper White card stock for classes and church cards this month.  I am currently scrounging around trying to find a sheet or two so I have enough paper for this mornings class...

I do have stuff to show you, but I have a class in less than an hours and I need to get ready...

I don't have any card pictures taken yet, so how about a picture of a dead squirrel?

This is my grandson Grant, and no he didn't shoot it...it was for a scavenger hunt...long story, but his Mom, my daughter Angie made him sterilize his hands after touching his tail...
(you'd have to know her to appreciate the irony, she is a germ freak.)

Well I must be off, to get ready for class that is ...hopefully today or tomorrow I will have more to share.

a miracle.....

I am posting so soon...of course when you get up at 2:30 am you tend to have a little more uninterrupted time....

Here's another evolutionary, or evolved card that we will be doing in class this week and next...

I wasn't even going to do this one because of the trouble it was, but once again my hero Barbara P came over and rescued me.... She did all the cutting and embossing for 30 cards...I owe her big time...

It's a swing card.. We used Basic Gray and Very Vanilla card stock.. Pleasant Poppies, Papillon Potpourri and Teeny Wishes stamp sets.  Labels Collection Framlets, and Fancy Fan Embossing folder...the new butterfly punch, pearls..

A very nice card but lots of work...

Well I am getting sleepy,  but I still have lots to do for class tonight.

something quick..

before it gets really busy around here.

Tomorrow is d-day for class, which simply means I have to force myself to make the final decision for the cards I am making...did I hear someone say procrastination?

Well the problem is, there are just too many choices....I gotta get with the program.

This is a card made by Barbara P. using Betty's Blossoms stamp set... It's really cute.
Barbara comes to my rescue lots of times, in fact she will be here soon, once again to help me out.

Sheri A. is stopping by tomorrow with some mustard re inker I need for classes this week and forgot to order...what would I do without my friends....

Well I'm outta here...work to do, places to go and cards to stamp....

Have a lovely week, I doubt if I post again before Friday.

i believe in evolution and a reason to smile.....

...not the kind where God didn't create the heavens and the earth, but card evolution.....

Yesterday Debbie H came over and worked on the swaps she is taking to convention.  I had 40 to send with her, thanks to Mom....

After she left Barbara P came over and we worked on card class for next week...after 86ing my idea (in case you don't know what 86ing is, it means cancelling or nixing, a term from my restaurant years...i digress) for the swing card, she suggested we make a triple layer card....

like this one..

or this one....perfectly satisfied with this for class until.....

Since the this stamp set is on SALE this month for only $5.00 with a $50 purchase called A Reason To Smile...we decide to make a few more cards to showcase how versatile this set is ......well we, mostly Barb came up with this card....
this is the card that "evolved" though a series of trail and era as most cards do.....

I fought it, I really did, said repeatedly to Barbara, We are not going to make this card...I kept trying not to look at it, but in the end it won out...It is so pretty in real life.......

Yes we did to a couple more, but this is our favorite and a real Reason to Smile.....

We will be doing this card next week in class...hope to see you there....

Live in the sunshine and smile....
