wouldn't you think.....

that after Monday night and the cards Barbara brought over, that I'd post before now?

Well I should have, but for one thing, I'm a slacker.....

It seems if I don't get up early, I don't post and when you stay up till 12 or 1 in the morning it's kind of hard to get up early...but I am here now and some what ready.

Since there is currently snow on the ground, as of an early morning snow, I think Christmas cards from Christmas Card Night, Monday would be appropriate.

Okay. I am doing something wrong.  I down loaded the pictures and they are not on the computer...

I don't have time right now to reload etc...I have to wash my hair and go to Rachel's today at 8:30..

So until next time,
HS,
Wanda
(hope this isn't the way the rest of my day is going to go...)

it's monday morning.......

and I don't have anything exciting to show for the weekend.  I ended up with a stomach bug Saturday and that pretty much put an end to my plans...but today is a new day and the start of the new week and I have lots of things to do and places to go this week.

Christmas card night is tonight so a busy day getting ready for that, and of course I don't have my samples made yet....did you think I would?

And of course my taxes aren't done yet....did you think they would be?

Well last Wed was my 39? birthday and Friday the kids planned a little surprise party for me..just family, but fun..(it's always fun when I have my babies, big and small).

Here is the card that Barbara made and sent me for my birthday..I took a picture of it, and put it in my computer, but found it nowhere, not even in my camera and no I am NOT getting senile....
A beautiful card, from a beautiful person...thanks again, Barbara..... The colors on here are Vanilla. Crumb Cake and Not Quite Navy. I love the new designer build a brads in the center of this faux quilt
card. I think Barbara did a great job in putting this together, I love the colors on it too.

And speaking of "cake", my son in law, Jonathan made me some really good cupcakes for my birthday party.  If I don't eat them all we will have some tonight at our Christmas card night.

Well I shall be off now.

Have a wonderful Monday..

the goverment is keeping me from being creative....

at least it seems like a good excuse....

I need to get on my taxes, so instead of creating beautiful cards, I must go work on taxes...If I get them done, it will though, indeed be a miracle, as I am lucky to get them done by April 15th....

Well at least I do have a beautiful card to show you, even if I didn't make it.

Hey, where did it go?  I was going to show you the pretty card Barbara made and sent me for my birthday. I took the picture and downloaded on the computer, but can't find it...and I don't have time to do it again, sooo...here is another pretty card Barbara made and let me photograph for my blog....

It too, is lovely.  She used Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla card stock and the Secret Garden bundle in the spring mini catalog....I don't want to buy that, but I know I will...soon I will own almost every thing in this catalog...and don't tell Eugene why the electric and water will be cut off.....jk...

Have a lovely day....pray for me as I tackle the inevitable......yuck..

so why haven't i posted.....

can you guess or figure it out?
Well actually there are a few reason and yes the new baby is the main one.....but I gotta make this quick cause I have to go babysit today....

This is Noah Timothy Bender less than 24 hours old and all wrapped up in a "snuggly".  Just in case you haven't heard, he weight 9 lbs 12.6 ozs and was almost 24 inches long.  Rachel had him natural and said she never wanted to do that again.  She was told he was only going to be about 8 lbs, plus he had his hand up by his face, so it was harder....poor momma.

And here is Grandpa...he's not much on babies....but he tries....

And Aunt Alicia, my favorite daughter in law....
And Momma Rachel....

Well I will have a card for you tomorrow, courtesy of dear Barbara....

Have a lovely day.

happy friday.....

Well still no baby yet or socks..Rach had contractions yesterday, but was too tired to walk them harder, so I guess tomorrow is the day.  Unless of course the baby gets busy today.....

No stamping at all yesterday, not even punching, but never fear, Barbara's here.....
These two cards are very simple but cute, easy and fast to make....I do love more complicated ones, but I also love the fast cute ones too.  These were made using various clear acyclic blocks just pressed on different colored ink pads and stamped on Whisper White card stock.  Then  words and images from one of the new 25 Years Stampin' Up! collector sets stamped in black Stazon, throw on a button or a few brads and wha la, you have a great card...

Thanks again Barbara for supplying me with cards to post when I don't have time to do it myself....

Well not sure what the day holds for me, hopefully some swimming, but I know definitely baby sitting.

Have a lovely weekend, I am pretty sure I will have a new grand baby by Monday...

happy valentines day or where are my socks all going?

some days I just feel random.......I got 6 pairs of new socks for Christmas and right now I can only find 1 1/2 pair...of course you know this has nothing to do with Valentine's Day.....

Well still no baby, if  he doesn't come by Saturday, Rachel will be induced on Saturday afternoon.

Happy Valentine's Day to all.  No stamping done at all yesterday, wait I take that back kind of.  I did help Rachel make 2 adorable skunks for Scott's teachers yesterday and although we didn't actually stamp, we punched and glued....you can see the skunks at daneesdelights.blogspot.com, they are soooo cute in real life.

But for now, here are a couple of things dear sweet Barbara P made and let me post...thanks again so much Barbara...Happy Valentine's Day to you!
and this.....
Very cute, wouldn't you say....

This, of course, isn't card, it's a Red Velvet Cake my son-in-law, Jonathan made for Sunday dinner.  He is Rachel's husband.  He likes to bake and we all like to eat what he makes...yummy.
He said he made it for Valentine's Day, Red Velvet is his favorite....which reminds me of a story.

When Jonathan and Rachel first got married, I decided, being the wonderful mother-in-law that I am, to bake him a red velvet cake for his birthday, since it is his favorite, complete with original cooked icing, no store bought stuff for me, everything from scratch....well it look good, so proud of my self...but the cake taste like kerosene....don't ask me how, I don't know till this day...all I know is I haven't bake a red velvet cake since....so much for my endeavors....

Well have a lovely Valentine's day, with no kerosene in your life, unless it's for heat, and I hope you can find all your socks (if you see any of mine, pass them this way.)

Lots of Love and Stamping,
Wanda

i forgot yesterday....

that I even had a blog....

Yesterday was quite a day, and no still no baby.  Mom came over Monday afternoon for me to help her make Valentine cards for most of her younger grand babies and great grand babies and older single ones.

I was busy with WOW Monday and she was really tired so we didn't start then, but Tuesday, that was a different story....

It started with us starting Valentines, then swimming, back home, lunch, then the fun began...47 Valentines later, we (Mom) cleaned up to some simulates of order and we got ready for Angie and her two, Alana and Grant, to come over so we could their Valentines for school.

I had been working on Alana's Smarties candy butterflies after I had finished helping Mom.  We made a little over 50 Valentines with them (including the teacher).  I wish I had thought to take a picture of them...The kids worked hard and did a great job... For Grant's we did an elephant's head made with 3 lg. hearts and made the trunk out of Skittles put in our 1 by 12 in cello bags.  We cut them down and to 4 ins and put 7 or 8 Skittles in them.  I got the elephant idea from Vashti.  For Alana's I cut butterflies out with the Big Shot and covered the Smarties with black paper, then taped them in the middle of the butterfly and we put wiggly eyes on them..both turned out cute, but no pictures.....

But I do have a few more pictures of Barbara's cards to show you....
I guess these are more like holders..for candy or a little card insert.  Grant made one of these for his teacher, but he put yellow eyes on his because he said owl have yellow eyes....
These were made with a 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 piece of paper scored in half at the 4 1/4 mark and then scored down the sides at 3/8.  You can find these at stampingpro.com.

This is another card made with our Big Shot Heart Framelits and some pretty DPS.

Well I have to babysit again today for Rachel to go to the doctor.  She may schedule an induction....
I do think we will have a baby sometime by this weekend.

I hope to get a little nap this morning, since I've been awake since 1:30 am...if not, it's going to be a really long day..

Hope your day is as long or short as you want it.

Till next time, HS.

it's just a little too early.....

for my brain to come up with a blog title....

But I wanted to post while I have the time.  Have to make name tags for our WOW (women of worth) Chocolate Night, water exercise, valentines, delivering stamps, hopefully a nap, going to WOW and who knows what else.  There will be a baby sometime this week, I am pretty sure.

Barbara P. came over Friday and brought me some really cute samples that I could take pictures of so I have some things to show you this week.
How about a few kisses.  As usual this card is so much prettier in real life....Silver Glimmer paper punch out with the Blossom Builder punch make these really easy.

Thanks Barbara for this card.

Well hubby is up getting ready for work, I don't have much to say right now, so bye for now.

Wanda

two different title post?

which one to choose?  a bicycle built for two or you really didn't think i'd make it four times in a row, did you?

When you see my cards for today you will get a bicycle built for two and if you read my blog you will get the four post in a row thing.....

The first card I am showing you I found and jkcards.wordpress.com.  I really liked it at first, now it's just okay....I think sometimes I do that, I get use to it so it doesn't wow me like it did when I first saw it, but you be the judge....

I think my bicycle needs to be moved up a little and the silver brads need to be bigger or something....
I use Midnight Muse card stock for the base and the background is some new Creped Filter paper, it's kind of interesting.  I want to play with it more to see what I can do.
The strip of patterned paper is from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack, whoa that's a long handle.  It has 48 sheets of DPS 4 x 6.  I really really like some of the deigns in this pack...Soft Suede is the brown accents on this card...
This next card I found at stamperdog.com. Ann Clemmer, Stamper Dog's human mama, got one this one in a swap.  I haven't spritz this one with black yet and I think my Celebrate is crooked, but you get the idea.  The card base is black and the Crumb Cake background is cut at 4 1/8 by 5 3/8. The strip of DPS is from Tea for Two. I think the rest is pretty easy to figure out.
I really liked this one too when I first saw it, I think I need to work on it a little too.

Lots going on today as usual.  I don't feel like going to the Y today, so I am not.  I did 2 hours yesterday and that's enough to finish out my week.

Ethan and Zeb are coming over today and hopefully Barbara P. is.  We want to play with Valentines today.
Somebody needs to clean up my house, any volunteers, and I need to get some orders together and place one, wash my hair, all before 11 am....in 2 hours, right...

Well the day ain't gettin' any younger, so bye for now.  Have a great Friday! and as usual...

Wanda

and so go the plans of mice and men...

and stampers.  But it's good...

My Workshop that was scheduled for this Saturday was changed to a book party instead, due to the unpredictable arrival of grand baby 8.  I must admit I am relieved.  I was feeling quite up in the air over it, not knowing how much to cut for, whether or not it would happen, so on and so forth, now I can concentrate on kid valentines, and stuff like that.

I did make a different card last night.  Well I actually started it the night before.  I finished, but decided to re do it with some adjustments...and no I didn't end up stamping yesterday morning, talked on the phone too long and didn't have time.

This new card will be my church card for this week instead of yesterdays card, it is simple too, but I like it.....
The measurements for the card are the same as yesterday only I used Island Indigo for the border piece instead of Shara Sand.  I just used Island Indigo and Shara Sand ink, put two tiny pearls on the punched out butterfly's body and everything else is pretty much the same, stamp set and all.

Well Rach is off to the doctors today, so I am off to babysit.  I will be surprised if I get to post tomorrow, but you never know.

Have wonderful day, I'm out of here...

Wanda

yes miracles do happen....

i am posting two days in a row...but don't get use to it :0)

It is amazing how much you can get done when you just do it (and you are threaten within an inch of you life..jk)

Barbara came over and I actually got my scrap book page figured out for the Saturday's Workshop in Manchester, Oh.  Whether or not I actually get to do it, is another story... Well here it is anyway...

This a close up of the top right side....I hope it will do...I might take the 3 whitish butterflies at the top left hand and switch them out at the bottom left..just to balance it out more....

This card I had kind of in mind last night after I had seen a similar one on Mary Fish's blog, stampinpretty.com, posted on Dec 17, 2012.  I quickly made this one this morning in lest than ten minutes, it may end up being my church card this week, since I have nothing else in mind and I need about 16 quick cards.

The card base is, of course, Whisper White cut at 5 1/2 by 8 1/2. The next piece is Sahara Sand cut at 3 3/4 by 5 and the next piece of Whisper White is cut 3 1/2 by 4 3/4.  Then I stamped the flower from the Sale a bration set  Bloomin' Marvelous, in Sahara Sand, Summer Starfruit, and Island Indigo.  I stamped "oh happy day" from the same set with Black Stazon ink and added some Summer Starfruit ribbon and some Dazzling Details in the center of the flower for a little extra bling.

Well back to the stamp mines for about an hour, then off to water exercise class, then Rachel's......

Catch you later. Have a Great Stampin' Day.

happy monday....

the start of a new week..well Sunday is officially the start of a new week, but since I take that day off to go to church and rest, Monday is the start of back to the real world....
And in this real world, there should come into my grandma life a new grand baby. Not sure which day actually, but since Rachel is now officially 10 days over due, I would say, soon.

She usually is late, as was her mother...Rachel was 12 days late with her last one, so I think somewhere around Wed or Thurs. I'll try to keep you posted as best as I can, since I will be staying at her house with the other 4....

Well here is what we did for Christmas Card Night last Tues. 1/29/13.
This one is done in Midnight Muse, Brushed Gold and Whisper White.  The stamp set we used was Rejoicing With You and the snowflakes were from a retired Big Shot die called Snow...something, I forget right now....old age...anyway. This looks like a fairly simple card, but you have to poke out all those tiny little pieces in the snowflakes, and..never mind, no sense in going into all the gory details, but I will say, Mom decided not to make any extra cards in this design other that what she had already punched out....
This was the other card we did, so pretty in real life.  We stamped Whisper White card stock with the Bold Snowflake stamp using the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark stamp pad (i really like this pad) and punched out Basic Black squares using the Postage Stamp punch and Whisper White squares using the 1" Square punch.  Then the heart, ornament and tree where punched out of different colors of out Glimmer paper and used the Merry Minis Punch Pack and the heart was the Small Heart Punch. Merry Christmas was from the Greetings of the Season stamp set.

They could make 5 of each one of the 2 designs, or 10 of  1 of the designs...of course you always have to have someone that wants to do somethings different, in this case I had two....Hi Gloria H and Gail, they had to make 1 of one design and 9 of the other:0).

We ate Pizza, Peanut Butter iced Chocolate Cupcakes (thanks Gail, they were delicious!) and Hersey Kisses (thanks Gloria), stamped and had fun...What more could a girl ask for.

Well today my once again dear faithful friend, Barbara P, is coming over to help me figure some projects out for a Workshop this Saturday, that more than likely I can't do, because of the arrival of my 8th grand baby....

I am praying for inspiration for designs and ideas..

Have a lovely week, I'll be back asap.

Wanda
