For all the 'Old Ladies' here's you a card....

After working yesterday on swap cards and coming up with four different designs and still not satisfied, and after thinking about it half the night, I got up and made this card this morning.
I showed it to my 33 yr old daughter and asked her what she thought and she said "It looks like an old lady card."  I said it is suppose to be vintage and stuff and she said, "That what I said, its an old lady card."
I told her 'I love the card' and she said 'That what I mean, all your old lady stampers would love it."
humm I hope you like the card whether you are an 'old lady' or not. That a glitter window on the front using packing tape and diamond dust glitter.

I was originally going to make my swap cards in the shape of eggs (for Easter), but change my mind when I came up with this card.  The bow makes all the difference. The next one doesn't have a bow.
I used an embossing folder on this one too, instead of Designer Patterned Paper or DP. Well what do you think?
To all the 'old ladies' out there I dedicate these cards to you.
Until next time HS, if I can get these old bones stampin'

Day number three..am I good or what???????

I did not make this card, but everyone that has seen it so far, loves it, including me.  I received it from a swap I am in.  It doesn't have a name or anything as to who made it, so I don't know who to give credit  to but it is pretty.  It uses a technique called 'black magic'. It is a fairly simple technique, one I will be teaching you at class next month.
You stamp on black card stock with Whisper White craft ink and color over it with watercolor pencils, then highlight with white gel pens (Stampin' UP! are the best and no I am not prejudice).
I have written all these post on Wed and scheduled them to post each day. (I know, I'm a cheater, but it worked). I plan on having a few more things done by the time you read this.
Hope your week has been good.
Have a lovely weekend.

I'm back...didn't believe me, did you?

Two boys I know both had surgery on Monday the 21st and I wanted to make them a special card so.... this is it.
This is one of the many free sets I got from Sale a bration, it called Wellness Wishes.
It says 'Heard you were sick as a dog.' on this stamp, but I didn't want that on it, so I just inked up the picture.  I also has the band aid in it with 'get well soon'. I colored them and cut them out.  I also has another saying in it that says 'Praying for you during your illness', but I didn't use that one.  Not bad for "free", is it?
I used Crumb Cake for the base and the Tempting Turquoise with Pacific Point for the accent color.  I stamped the dog and band aids one Confetti White in Black Stazon and colored them with Watercolor Wonder Crayons and used a blender pen.
That's all for today.

Missed a week...

I really did plan on posting last week, but what a busy week.  I won't bore you with details, so without futher adieu......Remember this card? I posted it a little while ago and didn't quite like it so I tore it up.  I took off the Crum Cake paper and flipped the Designer paper over and cut the bow down and moved things around and..

came up with this card.  I put it on Rose Red card stock.  Now that I look back at the other one, it doesn't seem too bad. I will be doing one or the other (I'll let you chose) at Card Class next month.
Guess what I am going to post 3 days in a row counting today.  Don't believe me, just check back tomorrow and find out.
Until then, HS,

I have been busy...

Although I haven't posted, I have been busy, really busy.  Monday my good friend Patty Meyers came over and we sent out 22 church cards.  I used 14 swap cards and made the other 8, then to the post office and bank and lunch.
Back home again we finished 10 cards for next week (the pink love cards posted in a previous entry) then we started on the name tags I need for next Monday night's WOW meeting (women of worth).  She left when Rachel and Jonathan brought over the boys for me to babysit so they could have a date night,(around 5 pm)  Patty went home.   I finished the 32 name tags before going to bed.
Tues. I was trying to decide what to make for the other church cards needed for next week, we wanted something a little more masculine or generic, the others were so pinky.  I was talking to Mom and told her I was trying to come up with something, she suggested I do the same thing as the pink in a different color and I proceeded to tell her why it wouldn't work. (because I didn't want to do it, cause a I thought it would be too much work).   As I thought about it, I realized it would be a lot less work to just do the card I just did than to invent a whole new cards sooo... I made 11 of them in soft suede and accented them with the beautiful red glimmer paper.
Angie and kids came over for me to do some sewing for her, (I also ended up sewing Grant's stuffed snake that had started to come apart because he likes to throw it around and hit everyone with it.) I made banana/applesauce muffins (47), got 2 packages from UPS (love the brown) and sorted the orders out for a couple of customers who wanted to pick them up last night.

So you see I really have been busy the last few days, but last night before going to bed, I did take pics just to prove it.
The last card is one similar to the one I did in the last post, but on this one I used the tulip embossing folder and sponged it a little.  I like it better.
Don't know how much stamp time I will get in today, I know a little, but I HAVE TO WORK ON TAXES soon and I have card classes next week, so I have to cut paper and stuff for that, and so on and so forth....
So until next time HS,

Can't think of a clever title.....

Kind of sleepy today. Can't breathe through my C-pap with a stuff up nose...Anyway in spite of that and babysitting all day, I did manage to make a card.  I wanted to use the new Nature Walk stamp set and also make an easel card, so  I combined them both to make a card.  Couldn't decide if I liked the butterfly or the bee better.  I also thought of a way or two I might improve the card later. I'll have to see if I get around to that. In the mean time here's the card with the bee and then with the butterfly. Which do you like best?

I am asked a lot how I create, a lot of times I start with a sketch then chose the colors and stamp set I want to use.  This is the one I used for this card.  Why don't you try it and see what you come up with.
Well that's all for today, maybe even this week.

Baby its cold outside....but here's the pics anyway...

This is the second card I made yesterday.  I was trying to use the designer paper.  I don't know if I like this much or not. (the ribbon is brown on the bottom because I heated it too much with the heat tool and scorched it). Anyway it is off someway or the other. Maybe the circle needs to be bigger.  Well this won't be a class card.  I do like the colors though.

This is the first card I made. I am going to a 40th b day party Saturday and needed a card.  Why not make it early instead of 10 minutes before I walk out the door, I thought to my self.  (i must be getting old, i never get things done ahead of time) I thought of the MoJo Monday sketch and thought that it would be a good one with candles but I didn't have a candle stamp to use, so I thought of punches, but what ones soo....I took the Word Window punch and punched the candles out of Neutrals DP and cut the bottoms off, then the Sm Heart punch and punched hearts out of Daffodil Delight card stock and cut them in half for the flame. I embossed the words in silver on the black and mounted it on Silver cs.

Well that's all for now.  I got my watercolor paper and stuff out to work on, but Rachel's coming over in a couple of hours to play Dutch Blitz and I did think of doing a little cleaning today. (maybe I am sick).  So check back in a couple of days, I hope to have something new then.
Later, stay warm.
