some people have 600 followers...

I on the other hand only have 2. ( Hi Gayle and Barbara!)  Oh well on to life.

Busy, busy week.  Babysat, Tues and Wed, Eugene was home Monday and after we got our camper home from camping, we ran around all afternoon.  Today I made cupcakes all day.  Rachel came by and got about 80 % of them...Mom and I also made church cards Tues, we had Christmas card night Tues night and I helped her make 8 little boy birthday card before the kids came over on Wed plus  crocheted 3 large coasters for my sister last night, etc and so forth.

Now I am staring at a terribly messy kitchen and dinning room table.....

We at least I did take a few pictures of cards we did.
Mom designed the cards and I cut, taped and matted them....

I have several more cards to put up so I'll hopefully post often in the next few days.

This is my son and grandson, it was a long hot day and daddy sung his baby to sleep....

Have a lovely evening and hopefully a good night sleep.

haven't got much stamping done....

can you guess why?

Well before I get into that, here's another card we did in class this month.. It uses the floating watercolor technique or something like that..it has several names.
You emboss on Shimmery White card stock, then sprites water on it until soaked.  Take your aqua painter dipped in a re inker color and just let it flow in the water on the rose.  It's really easier than I have described.  I am not always very good with words, in case you haven't figured that out yet.

The colors I used on this one was Regal Rose and Rose Red.  The card base is Rose Red.

We also did some in Elegant Eggplant and Perfect Plum for the purple lovers.

Now the main reason I haven't stamp yet this week......

WE HAD OUR OWN CUPCAKE WARS!

AND THE WINNER WAS.....MEEMAW...SHE HAD THE BEST GRAND KIDS!
AND THE LOSER WAS...THE KITCHEN  I think you can figure out why...

Have a lovely day.  I am planning on stamping a thing or two today, it's my only chance.  Camping and grand kids tomorrow and this weekend.

Hope your Memorial Day weekend is wonderful.

happy friday...

long day, short night.....need I say more?

Here is the Hello Kitty graduation card I made for Alana yesterday.  I used the Largest Oval punch, I think it's call the Ex Large Oval Punch, yep it is, and the 5 Petal Flower Punch (retiring at the end of the month) and the Word Window Punch.  I just drew the gown and hat.  The card base is Whisper White and the darker pink is Regal Rose and the lighter pink is Pretty in Pink.  A mini silver brad and bakers twine finish off the cap and the gown highlights were done with a Regal Rose marker.
Simple but it worked.
An the Graduate...

Have a lovely day and weekend for that matter.

good morning...

Nothing profound or anything, just good morning.

I hope you have a lovely day.  I have a class at 9:30 this morning, and sometime before 4:00 pm, I am planning on making a "Hello Kitty" graduation card for my grand daughter, Alana, who will be graduating from Kindergarten to night.

While you are waiting to see that card, here a card we are doing in class this week.
This really cool card was done using the Need for Speed stamp set, a set I had been meaning to get this stamp set for a long time, but just got around to it.  We used Basic Black and Real Red and Whisper White card stock.  The car was stamp in Stazon ink and colored with a Real Red marker.  The diamond brads are retired, but I still had quite a few and Sheri told me to just use them up, so I did.  You could also just use regular round ones, but these do look good.

Now for the "chrome"...
It looks a lot cooler in "real life".  I covered a piece of card stock with aluminum foil then ran it through the Hounds tooth embossing folder (thanks Barbara for letting me use yours)...and I must admit, it looks really good.
I did this similar technique with a different embossing folder, before we had this one, but when I was thinking of making this card, I got the idea of this metal look.

Well I shall be off for now. (what do you mean, I am always off?)

Hopefully my Hello Kitty card works out...if it does,  I'll show it to you soon.

Until then, HS,
Wanda

the caffeine did it...

caffeine use to not bother me, so when dear Phyllis called before class and asked if I wanted anything from McDonald's, how could I resit...a medium icee coffee with extra cream and extra vanilla...
It didn't necessarily keep me awake, but after I made my night trip to the bathroom, I had a hard time going back to sleep...Oh well it sure was good.  Thanks Phyllis!

Well it already been a really busy week, the first class was last night.  I only have 3 classes this week.

Here's a little project we did with a soon to be retired stamp.  I did use current in colors though.
We used the Flower Fest stamp set. The colors we used were Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder.. We stamped, sponged and glittered, (you can't see that very good).  We also stamped the butterfly again on Whisper White and punch it out with the coordinating butterfly punch (which is also retiring) then put a matching brad in the center.

Then I wanted to let every one make a matching envelope with the new diagonal score plate.  (which I still haven't been able to download the video on here, but I shan't give up).

In about one hour and a half I will have a class, so I must be off now.

Later.

Humm..

I shall try again..

guess it didn't work.... Well here's another card anyway.
this card is one we will be doing next week in class.  It uses the soon to be retired stamp set Inspired by Nature.  It is stamped on Marina Mist card stock with Night of Navy ink.  The card base is Crumb Cake. I embossed the Vellum card stock with White Embossing powder then attached it to the front of the Marina Mist with 3 silver brads.

Well I'll mosey on out of here...had a loooooonnnnggggg day.

i need to...

quit looking at everyone else's blog and write in mine!

Busy day today. (I had one yesterday too.)  First I have to CLEAN MY HOUSE.

We are closing today on a refinance (lower interest rates) and they are coming here.  So you see I have to have the house somewhat clean for strangers.  All the grand kids but one were here yesterday plus their mothers, but things still get a little messy, even though Rachel cleaned a lot up before she left.

Well enough of that.  I have tried 2 or 3 time to load in the video from SU on how to use the new score plate.  All it does for hours is just keep saying its loading in, but it never does.  I am going to try it again today because the card I am going to show you uses it for a background.
Barbara P came over and helped me get them stamped with a new stamp set available in the new catalog. She had the set and the new designer paper is behind them.  I used them for church cards.
Thanks Barbara, you are a great friend.

I will try to download the video now.

Ok so it didn't work. I think it's been at least 20 mins.  I am going to try another one.
Okay after another 25mins of trying to upload another one, I am quiting for now..

Must be off and get going.  I have another idea I may try later, much later.

HS till next time.

has it really been a whole week...

since I last posted?  Time sure does fly.

Well what have you been up to this week?

As for me... I've stamped, when to my grand daughter's first birthday party, made her a little purse for that...babysat...stamped... read a couple of books....baby sat.... stamped.... did church cards....went to the doctors....stamped.

I getting tired just writing about it, but at least I have a card or two to show you...well at least one for today.

This is a very simple but elegant card I found some where in cyber space.  I uses the stamp set Pocket Silhouettes.  It is embossed with the oval from the Designer Frames set.  I colored with markers on the stamp with River Rock for the stems, Wisteria Wonder for the flowers, then highlighting the tips of the flowers with Concord Crush.  I tied a Wisteria Wonder ribbon on top.  I may add a sentiment, not sure.

I have a couple of cards I want to show you using the new diagonal score plate, but every time I try to down load the video it won't do it, even though it acts like it is.

Well I'll try later.
Have a lovely weekend,
HS,
Wanda

ps. this is the one I was telling you about Barbara...whats ya think?
