Glitter Pants Strikes Again...

another thrilling episode in the secret life of Glitter Pant...and the saga continues...(this might be better than Star Wars)

We were in the car after church Sunday night and  GP (glitter pants) said, did you put anything on the computer about my glittery pants? (busted)
He told me someone came up to him at church and called him Glitter Pants....(thanks Philip)..
anyway to make along story short afterward GP said, "Here's Christmas card from Patty."
He then proceeded to open it up.."This is pretty".
I told him she made them at Christmas card night and it used the same stamp set as the other "glittery one", then he look down again and said"MORE GLITTER! IT"S ALL OVER ME AGAIN!"
Evidently he must attract glitter...once again he had glitter all over his pants, hands, everywhere...

He may as well embrace his feminine side I guess and wear glitter.....ha, ha, ha.....
(he never reads my blog, so I'm good, unless he runs into a blabber mouth again;0)

Well would you like to see the famous cards.....

The glitter doesn't show up really good here and it also depends on the person making the card as to how much glitter they put on it.  I really don't go too overboard usually, but some of my girls really like glitter!
This card was designed by a stamper in New Zealand...Jacque Williams..really beautiful in person.
This is the card Patty made and gave out for Christmas cards..One of my stampin' girls, Phyllis found this on the internet somewhere and we made it.. I did change it up a tiny bit, but it really close and full of glitter too....

So there you have it...

Have a Wonderful Holiday! and
Merry Christmas from Me and Glitter Pants...

(it won't be a silent night if he finds out about this!)

Sneak Peak and Glitter Pants

yes you heard me right, glitter pants and on my husband no less.....
Prissy guy...well not really, but that's what happens when you sit in a seat after some of my stampin' girls get through making their Christmas cards...
It was so funny Eugene sat at the end of the table after a morning class, unsuspecting....then as he stood up and went into the living room he saw sparkle and said "I've got glitter all over my pants!"

I tried to get him to let me take a picture and post it on here but he wouldn't let me...ha, ha.
So now his new nick name is Glitter Pants....just one of the hazards a guy has to put up with when he has a busy stampin' wife;0)

I thought I had taken a picture of the card, but I guess I hadn't yet....I post the picture next time...

Now for the sneak peak..

I don't know if it's the colors, the flowers or what, but this is one of my favorite sets in the new catalog and designer paper...I love the colors.....

Well I really need to go to the Y today, but can't seem to make myself do it...so I guess I'll make cards or clean my house...tough choice...not..

Well I'm off for now, happy stampin' or hs from
Wanda and Glitter Pants!

Cards for Christmas Card Night (and day)

Just a quick post to show you some cards we will be making at our monthly "Christmas Card Night"
that we have in the day too.  No time for explanations now...

I got this card idea from Frances Martin.....I did a couple different things but mostly her idea...

These weren't how I had originally envisioned them in my mind, but they work... It was easier than cutting the angels out....The two colors are Blackberry Bliss and Night of Navy, you could switch out the gold and silver if you wanted.

I didn't take a picture of the Wisteria Wonder tree card we made in class, my camera battery died and I have to recharge it... but if you were in class you know what it looks like, if you weren't I guess you'll have to wait until I post it......(don't hold your breath)

Well dear faithful reader/ readers,  Have a lovey Thanksgiving,

Wanda

decisions, decisions,

decisions.....we all have to make them.  You, me....

I made 7 different card and several different designs but only need 5 cards....you get to decide which 5 you want this month at class or pay a little extra and do some or all! (three are fun fold cards..guess which three.)

Well here are pictures of them all and maybe you can decide before you come to class which ones you want...
Good luck!

and Happy Stampin'

yes Virginia, I do believe in Santa Claus.....

It's a miracle, a real Christmas Miracle...well it's not Christmas yet unless you count Christmas in July....and it's kind of not a real miracle.....BUT I AM FINALLY POSTING A CARD and ONE I ACTUALLY GOT TO DESIGN!!!!

So maybe it is a Yes, Virginia, I do believe kind of miracle.......

Well enough of that let's get down to the basics.....I have been wanted to actually design my own card for a while, but no time and there are really lots of lovely creations out there to copy, but about 2 1/2 or 3 weeks ago I actually got to design....

Of course this is not what I started out to make or actually had in mind other than the bird nest idea that I did get from someone else, I think it was Wendy Wiexler, who is great.....

Anyway here is the card...we are doing this in class next week....

This is the first one (I did use a big bobby pin to hold it closed but it looked a little tacky)...
So I used my thumb this time.....there is a progression from totally plain to embossing part to embossing all and then the addition of the bow and flowers....
These are a little out of order, but you get the "picture".....
The fold is called a "Joyful" fold...not sure why, but it usually is opened from the side....

instead of top to bottom.....fun maybe even joyful!

I used one of my favorite new in colors, Tip Top Taupe...(Mint Macaron is the other one) and Basic Black...

Card back is Basic Black 4 1/4 x 5 1/2
Second layer is Tip Top Taupe cut 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 scored at 2 1/2
Third layer is Tip Top Taupe cut 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 2 3/4
Piece inside is Whisper White cut at 2 1/2 x 4 1/4
Top layer Basic Black is 2 1/4 x 3 3/4
Top piece you stamp on is Whisper White 2 x 3 1/2

I colored on my stamp with Tip Top Taupe, Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron markers, then add a little more color with the Taupe ink and a Blender pen......

Confused, just come to class next week, we will be making it there...

Well off to Tenn to babysit for my 2 hillbilly grandsons for a long weekend, then back for Monday's class....

Don't totally give up on me because miracles do happen and I might post again soon than you think...

Take care and HS,
Wanda

If I were you......

I would have deleted me and this blog a long time ago......once I don't post for a while it is so hard to make myself do it.....

I have stuff to show, stuff to post, but for some reason, I do neither........

Once again I shall start....will I do it this time...who knows...

First of all HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A DEAR FRIEND BARBARA PARKER! 29 and holding....!

I have Oklahoma babies here right now, so I am doing no stamping, but luckly I have this months cards for class all figured out.....

Jelly fish, joy folds, flowers, friends and I forgot the last one....but I do have it figured out.

I do not of course have pictures of them but will take some today and plan on even posting some....really soon, maybe today...

Until I decide to post again,
HS,
Wanda

i just wore myself out....

I started counting all the cards I cut and make each month and realized WOW, no wonder I never get anything done......

On a normal month that includes a monthly card class done 4x, Christmas card class done 2x and weekly church cards...totals approximately 350 to 360 cards cut and 110 to 120 cards made and 7 cards designed........plus life......made me tired just thinking about it......especially when I have a minimum of 4 to 7 layers on most of my cards.......

Well I am struggling with my last class idea for next week's round of classes...I had it all planned ready to do and what do I do?  wait too late to get my order in to have all the supplies needed by next week...

The good side is I already have two cards planned for next month's classes....the bad side is a scramble to decide what I want to do.  It's not that I don't have ideas, it's that I have toooooo many:0)

Well enough about that for now.....a card....

Did I show you this one yet? Designed by very talented Jan Tink over at stampspaperscissors.typepad.com.....I love her stuff....I decided, why reinvent the wheel when she already did the work...

We will be making this card at class next week...I love it....

Well I'll be back on here next time I get out of my stamping cage.....

Wanda

i know, i know...

I said I was going to post once a week and I haven't...well at least I'm back sooner than I have been..

I truly want to post more often and will keep reaching for that goal..

I have probably made at least 150 cards since my last post, not all different, but still, that's a lot of cards...I just don't always take time to take pictures and that's the most fun....

Anyway here is one we made in card class last month.........

I didn't have good lighting when I took it.. I stamped in VersaMark and embossed with Black Embossing Powder on our Silver Foil paper (make sure to really use the embossing buddy when you do this).... then colored it with my Blendabilities. I just used the Medium and Dark Rich Razzelberry and Dark Old Olive and Dark Crumb Cake...colored a few diamonds with the Dark Rich Razzelberry.

I used a piece of Basic Black card stock cut at 4 and 1/4 by 11..next a piece of Smoky Slate card stock cut at 4 by 5 1/4...My foil piece was  3 1/2 by 4 and mounted on a piece o Basic Black card stock...then the Rich Razzelberry piece underneath is 2 1/2 by 4 1/4 and the Black piece on top of that is 2 by 4 1/4.....and a Silver Satin bow ( all SU of course.)

I also did it using Gold Foil paper....

At the suggestion of my friend, Rhonda, I used a green to highlight the gold and black...Mossy Meadow and a Gold Satin bow...same Blendabilities Markers...

Also Happy 60th Birthday to my one and only!

Till next time,
HS,
Wanda

happy thursday???

well I can't think of a clever title (as if any of my titles are clever).....but I do hope you have a happy Thursday...

Last week and Monday and Tuesday of this week made a busy time of classes...now all that is left is the clean up.

We worked on the new hot technique in the stamping world right now called Bokeh, pronounced bouquet ...a photography term for  out of focus point of light...

This is the card..

I got the basic idea from a couple of places, Lisa Young at snippetsandpretties.blogspot.com and Shelli Gardner Stampin' Up!'s CEO....

I love the new Butterflies Thinlets dies from SU along with the coordinating stamp set, Butterfly Basics.

I stamped the fern in Versa Mark and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then created a background using Marina Mist, Pistachio Pudding and Mossy Meadow inks, sponging them with sponge daubers(and a little water to help spread easier) over Watercolor paper and Whisper White card stock..(we used both papers to see which we liked best.)

We then punched out various sizes of circles on a piece of card stock and used it for a template to sponge White Craft ink randomly on our card front...

I mounted the 3 3/4 x 5 in card front on a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 of Mossy Meadow and then the card base in 4 1/4 x 11 of Pistachio Pudding card stock folded in half..

The butterfly was cut out of a piece of Watercolor paper. I didn't want a stark white nor a more yellow vanilla look. I thought this was just perfect for this card, however depending on how dark or light they turned out, a Mossy Meadow butterfly looked better on some of the other cards.

The sentiment stamp on the Watercolor paper covered up a mistake I made stamping a messed up sentiment directly on the card front....it worked out quite nicely however, I think...

Well I'm planning on spending most of the day finishing up this week's church cards, which are the black and white heart cards a post or two under this one, and making treasure chest......paper ones of course for jr church......

Busy day ahead...as always thanks for stopping by and

HS,
Wanda

greetings earthlings.......

what a busy time last week...I went to IN on Wed afternoon and back Thurs evening....

I did get 3 card designed and ready for card class this week and 2 done when I got back...I am almost ready for this week's round of classes....

Although I did direct copy sort of, this card....the purchase of this stamp set was a mistake..
I wanted to order the cute valentine set called Hey, Valentine..in the new Occasions catalog, which was number 137135, in wood...But as I was typing in the numbers, I typed in 137134, which was the stamp set Wood You Be Mine?  I didn't think any of my stamping girls would like this set..I must admit, I wasn't to crazy about it myself.

I mentioned this to a couple of friends that I had gotten together with to work on projects with.

Tracy, who I don't really know very well, started sending me pins and ideas for this set...I really liked the look of this one.  (thanks Tracy)
I forget who designed this card originally, but I like the looks of it so I made it.  When I copy I mostly just look at a picture and have to figure it out...sometime mess up quite a lot of paper...

I think this turned out quite nice and once again I say a BIG Thanks to Tracy for helping me out with this.

Yes I could have sent this stamp set back, but figured why go through the hassle and it was my fault...
so here it is...and yes I did get the Hey, Valentine set, which you will see next time...

So until then, TIMBER! and hs (happy stamping),
Wanda

can I keep this up?

who knows, but I posted 2 times already this year! WoooHooo!

Today I have a card we make in October's Christmas Card Night.  I had the girls stamp Merry Christmas as their sentiment, however I thought just in case I need to use mine after Christmas for a church card, I'd put something different on mine......
This was really a simple card to make but I really liked how it turned out.....
The colors were Lost Lagoon and Smokey Slate. There is a little hint of Pear Piazza in the designer paper...

Another one of my goals is to save one card so I can take a picture of it....sometimes I use them all before I have a chance to photograph them (at least the church cards ones) or I give all the samples to my Mom...she sends out over 300 cards a year....

I may have a really, really busy week this week, not sure, but I may have to take a trip to IN......and with card class next week and only one card designed so far, I have to get "on the stick". (wonder where that phase came from?)

Have a lovely stampin' day.
HS,
Wanda

Happy Late New Year!

A new year, a new month (well almost new), a new day......

I have no resolutions this years but a few goals....not that I will meet them all, but that I will continued to work toward them...One of them being post at least weekly!!!!
Wow a goal, plus a miracle......

Well I am today, and it even a Saturday.....

If you have been to face book and on my Stampin' Up web site, you may have seen this card....

e

Just wanted to show you that you could do the same card with different sentiments if you didn't need a valentine card :0)

I got the idea from looking at Mary Fish's blog.  She had a small picture frame with 4 hearts in it...that spurred the idea....

I really like how it turned out! hope you do too!

Want to make one of  your own plus more?

Come to card class on Tuesday Jan 20th or Thursday Jan 22....
time are posted on my stampinup website wandamac2.stampinup.net and go to events....
or just email or call me....

Till next time

Wanda
