It's all Jane Austin's fault....

It is all Jane Austin's fault that I don't have a card to show you today, for you see last night I was all alone and wanted some company or noise or something. So I decided to play Jane Austin's 'Pride and Preduice' in the living room while stamping in the dining room.  I turned the volume up and after watching the first fifteen minutes or so proceeded to the table to stamp.
I had to finish my January swap cards and then I wanted to design a card from the 3 clover card I did using a different stamp set. (I really like that lay out). However I just had to take a minute to see Mr. Collins and then there was Pemberly and Miss Georgette, and of course the scene where Mr. Darcy declares his love and Elizabeth in no uncertain term tell him to get lost, and it was down hill from there.  After stamping about an hour I succumbed to the temptation of watching the rest of it.  (it is the long version with Colin Firth in it)
After is it was over (about 12:30am) I diligently went back to stamping, but was some what tired and went to bed around 1:20 am, with swap cards still to finish and no new card.
So you see why it really wasn't my fault at all.
Now today I must finish my swap cards, clean for tomorrow's make up class, make sure I have enough card stock cut and ready, and possibly have a missionary story for church tonight, so there is no way I can invent today.
Tomorrow is class and Friday my husband his minor eye surgery, so that leaves no inventing time what so ever. So I probably won't even have a card to post this week, and you can see it's no fault of my own.
I will forgive Jane Austin and trust you will too, for it is after all her fault entirely that I have no card to show you.
Hope you got some fun stampin' time this week.
Until next time,
HS,
Wanda

What do you think?

I know its about 2 months until St. Pat's Day, but when you are making cards for swaps and classes you have to stay ahead of the game.  So here are two cards I did today.    The first one is without and with a saying and has green glitter, but seems off balanced to me or somethings not right,  can't quite figure it out.
I think I like the second (third) best.
So what do you think, I'd love to hear your thoughts. (i think..)
Hope you are staying warm during this cold, cold weather.  Soon we'll be paying so much for heat, we won't have any money for stamps. yikes!! with sale a bration coming Tues. (25) that would be horrible.
Well have a lovely day.

hi Momma...some cards from class...

At first my title was going to read 'Momma never reads my blog' but today she said she did. Before she told me she just looked at the pictures and never read what I wrote...I could have gotten away with all kinds of stuff, but then if she is reading...

Any way here are 3 cards we did in card class today. I may have to reschedule tomorrow if we get all the snow they say we will, who knows, but here's what they will miss..

This first one is a spinner card, the red heart and some of the red at the bottom is glimmer glitter paper, the brown is soft suede and the blue is marina mist and a beautiful new embossing folder in the occcasions mini catalog (I can't believe I over looked it at first). A very pretty card in person, if I may say so myself.
The second is a 3x6 card.  I got the basic layout design from Mary Fish  at stampinpretty.com.
Notice the red glitter heart and paper strip, I can't get enough of that glitter.

This last one is made with alumnin foil and embossed with SU's textured embossing folder, different and cool.
It is however on it side, I forgot to flip it before I downloaded it.
We also did the blushing bride LOVE card and the red LOVE card in a previous post, plus the crum cake and razzelberry card in the post right below this one.
So see what you missed out on if you didn't come to class.
Well have a warm day anyway.

Wanda

this is for you, Mom...

After finally getting Mom to get on my blog for the first time yesterday, she calls me up this morning and says, "Hey you didn't put up anything new today."  I actually thought I was doing good to post three days in a row.  So I finished the card I was working on last night, after finally getting home today (from babysitting again) and waking up at 4 am and getting up at 5. (I am so sleepy).
Here the card using Mojo Mondays sketch. Its done in Razzelberry and Vanilla and uses the new Vintage Style DP.
I am also putting up an slightly altered card from yesterday. Which do you like better today's or yesterdays and can you tell what I did different?
Have a good day Mom and all of you others.

Don't know if I'll use these...

I did get busy and I worked on cards, three hours and this is all I came up with. Neither were what I had in mind. Oh well. Not sure about using them for class yet. I only have about one and a half more days to work on stuff and decide.  That is really my hardest part, deciding.
Not sure what I think about these two cards, I will have to sleep on it and look again in the morning.
So here are last nights cards today.
Thanks for looking.
HS (which incase you have forgotten means happy stampin')

I have been busy...

Although I haven't got any new mini catalog stuff made, I have been busy making church cards for next week.  I know I will be increduably busy trying to get ready for card class so I decided I'd better get my church cards made now.
I saved some card stock that I had punched out large snowflakes from with the big shot 2 years ago, maybe 3.  I didn't want to throw away the paper, thinking I could do something with them and decided to use them finally.  I also used some retired but still available felt snow flakes.  You can order them from my on line store at a great discount and the colored paper is still current so you can use them.  They are white, baja breeze and riding hood red.  I also used some fire and ice brads in the center of them.  On a few I use some snow flakes cut with the new snow flake strip, with all the snow out there is seemed like the time for some snow flakes.
I hope to be inspired tonight, maybe I'll have something new to show you sometime tomorrow, but don't hold your breath, I am babysitting for about 4 or 5 hours, two little boys, won't get much stamping done.
Stay warm.
HS,

Wanda
ps. I made 18 of these..

I did it!

Here  it is, a card.  I didn't think I would get one done this week but made this one today. Can't say I am satisfied with it, but there is nothing else to do to this one.
I don't know if it was too simiple or what. It's not really what I had in mind either.  It's pretty but it doesn't wow me.
Of course as usual it is so much prettier in real life.  I am going to have to figure out how to capture the color better.
Love the 20% chance of snow we have today.  It's coming down like crazy!!

Thanks for looking, stay warm.

i wanted to have something new but......

i got sick, and so go the plans of mice and men (and stampers).  I wanted to start the New Year with at least one new card a week and posting at least that much, but alas I succumbed to the eppazudie that is being so freely passed around by friends and family.

the cards in the last post are quite pretty in real life. especially the pink one is quite sparkly.

maybe i'll try another day to capture the sparkle better.

trust you are well and enjoying the new year, unlike others i know.
