happy thursday???

well I can't think of a clever title (as if any of my titles are clever).....but I do hope you have a happy Thursday...

Last week and Monday and Tuesday of this week made a busy time of classes...now all that is left is the clean up.

We worked on the new hot technique in the stamping world right now called Bokeh, pronounced bouquet ...a photography term for  out of focus point of light...

This is the card..

I got the basic idea from a couple of places, Lisa Young at snippetsandpretties.blogspot.com and Shelli Gardner Stampin' Up!'s CEO....

I love the new Butterflies Thinlets dies from SU along with the coordinating stamp set, Butterfly Basics.

I stamped the fern in Versa Mark and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then created a background using Marina Mist, Pistachio Pudding and Mossy Meadow inks, sponging them with sponge daubers(and a little water to help spread easier) over Watercolor paper and Whisper White card stock..(we used both papers to see which we liked best.)

We then punched out various sizes of circles on a piece of card stock and used it for a template to sponge White Craft ink randomly on our card front...

I mounted the 3 3/4 x 5 in card front on a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 of Mossy Meadow and then the card base in 4 1/4 x 11 of Pistachio Pudding card stock folded in half..

The butterfly was cut out of a piece of Watercolor paper. I didn't want a stark white nor a more yellow vanilla look. I thought this was just perfect for this card, however depending on how dark or light they turned out, a Mossy Meadow butterfly looked better on some of the other cards.

The sentiment stamp on the Watercolor paper covered up a mistake I made stamping a messed up sentiment directly on the card front....it worked out quite nicely however, I think...

Well I'm planning on spending most of the day finishing up this week's church cards, which are the black and white heart cards a post or two under this one, and making treasure chest......paper ones of course for jr church......

Busy day ahead...as always thanks for stopping by and

HS,
Wanda
